The tower will reopen to the public on Sunday, May the 23rd, 2021.  

This will happen in line with any government guidelines.


We aim to be open every Sunday 10.00 - 16.00   

                                   

Our open season ends in October 2020.

We will adhering to social distancing guidelines so access to the Tower will be limited to a few at a time.  

We also have a temporary layout in the Tea Room.  Please see below.

Please come along if you can, and see the new displays and read the history of those who served flying and working at Rougham, during 1943-45.

Your health and safety is very important to us, so we kindly ask that you sign in when you arrive.

While you are in the tea room, please follow the one way system.  Only 16 guests in the tea room at one time, but there is seating outside.

When walking around the museum, please follow the arrows on the floor.

Please follow these simple rules, to keep you, your family and others safe.

About Rougham Control Tower.

Rougham Control Tower is a small, friendly, volunteer run Museum, dedicated to keeping the memories and history alive of the American Airmen/women who served in the 94th BG of the USAAF 8th Air Force during WWII. 

 The Airfield was historically called 

RAF Bury St Edmunds, and is situated to the North of Rougham village between what is now the A14 trunk road (formerly the A45).  

We plan to welcome the public on the 23rd of May, 2021.

The idea to form an Aviation Society originated from a number of local enthusiasts keen to fill an obvious gap for such an  organisation in “their”  part of Suffolk.

Initial advertising produced a very good response, Haverhill Aviation Society was formed in 1982.
